Weekend At Dunboyne Castle Hotel

We stayed at the Dunboyne Castle hotel where we were treated to a fabulous dinner at the Ivy Restaurant.

The pear salad and the duck particularly stood out not to mention the wonderful chicken dish.

The desserts are mouth watering.

A special treat was afternoon tea in the drawing room which is one of the oldest rooms in the castle surrounded by spectacular furniture and a chandelier.

We were also treated to great craic agus ceoil in the Sadilier Bar which went on well into the night. The Seoid Spa is a particular feature of the hotel sitting on three floors with a gym and thermal suite where massage and spa packages are available and is a very relaxing getaway from the hustle and bustle of modern life.

It was a very enjoyable stay and to be recommended. Outside of the hotel is the Sean Boylan Statue. He was the Meath Senior Football Manager and as you can see from the magnificent statue, he achieved something amazing - 4 All-Ireland Final Successes in '87, '88, '96, and '99. Read more about him on Wikipedia.
