Trend Talk: Statement Boots

Trend Talk

Statement boots

Designers are loving the statement boot at the moment. With all the different variations, one thing is clear this season; boots are very in.

With the over-the-knee still going strong, probably because of how practical they are for this time of year, new textures, heels and shapes have been added. A very popular thing to do it to scrunch down your over the knee boots. Bloggers and all the fashanistas seem to be doing this at the moment.

Adding to the over-the-knee, we have a sudden surge of biker boots appearing. We love how Chanel have bought this tough trend into a more girly sphere of dressing with the pearls and other embellishment. Then we have the heel of the boot itself, you can make a statement with that too.

Below we have curated three outfits, each with a different "statement boot". As usual we have started off with a casual, to a more dressy ensemble, to a layering outfit, perfect for the weather.

Biker Boots

We LOVE these Valentino boots with the cut out and lacing. Pair with a simple pair of black jeans and white T for a super cool off duty look. Throw on a bang on trend aviator jacket to stay nice and toasty in the winter months.

Let the heels do the talking

We are a big fan of keeping things elegant and simple, with a slight edge to it. Therefore this next outfit makes perfect sense to us. We have gone for all black, including the stunning 'YSL' heeled boots and tux jacket to keep a modern feel, but still a timeless look. We would just add a simple black mini dress under the jacket to make sure the jacket and the boots are the pieces doing the talking. Or the walking.

Knee High

How could we not throw in a knee high statement boot. Despite it being the obvious choice for this season, we suggest wearing them in a different way. Roll those babies down! We love the simple blue colour of the boots we have selected and like the idea of rolling them down with a long knitted midi dress layered over the top just letting them show through. Add in a long cardigan and coat over the top for that extra warmth.
