Trend Talk: Colour

Trend Talk: Colour

Trend Talk

Colour

Winter is unfortunately still upon us, with its grey and miserable weather. So it is time  to start brightening up days with our wardrobes. Colour can be a difficult one, but it doesn't mean that for this trend you have to go head to toe in colour. You can just add a bright, or pastel coloured accessory, or perhaps a statement jumper to be in with the trend. The rest of your outfit can be the usual neutrals that you wear day in day out, so injecting a bit of colour is incredibly easy, and everyone can and should do it.

We are back with yet another trend talk, but this time we will be doing things a little bit differently. We have a base outfit, which you can see below, and then we have found some pieces that will match up and inject a bit of colour to the outfit. We have one  to dress it down and make it more casual, one look which dresses it up, and again, as per usual, one for a layering look.

Trend Talk

Pastel

Pastels for spring. Now there's one we haven't seen before (subtle eye roll). But as with every season, there is always a new angle to a trend, a new way to wear it. So don't worry, you wont be wishing you held onto all of your baby blue shirts or lilac dresses from years ago when pastels were last in, there is a completely new take on pastels. Here's how we would style them up this season.

Below we have our usual three outfits. One casual, one more dressy and a layering outfit thrown in for good measure. This time around it's all about the texture. The trend has been seen on the runways of Victoria Beckham, Michael Kors, Calvin Klein and Carolina Herrera, just to mention a few. So here is how we would do the pastel trend this spring.

Casual

Lilac is huge this season too. We love this jumper paired with some light wash denim and some futuristic sneakers. Add in a pastel shearling bag to really play into the trend and your all set.

Dressy

Go for a simple LBD under a pastel statement cocktail coat. preferably in leather of something fun like that. Pair with simple accessories.

Layering.

Lastly with layering in mind, we love the shearling jackets that are everywhere at the moment. Add one in a pastel colour over a casual outfit, and your guaranteed to be spot on trend.

What to wear this season

Statement Sneakers

There is always going to be a stand out piece for every season, saying that can even be throughout a year, think of the hype the Chloe Nile bag caused. Sold out everywhere! But thinking about the practicality of things, how much use do you really get out of those statement pieces that you've invested so much in?

It's time to be thankful that the humble sneaker is set to be the piece this season. With all sorts of designs, with intricate embroidery to studding and graffiti, there are so many style to choose from, you can really make the piece personal to you. By that we mean choosing which goes best with your style. If your casual verges on the more smart side, perhaps go for something simple but with a little more sparkle, but if you are a bit out there, perhaps a graffitied up pair of kicks is the one to go for.

We have selected some of out favourites for you to browse, and highly recommend investing in a pair this year. They go with pretty much everything, and are super comfortable, so you will 100% get the wear out of them. and they look pretty too, did we mention that?

Trend Talk: Tailoring

Trend Talk: Tailoring

Trend Talk: Tailoring

Happy new year folks, and finally the first trend talk of the year is here. With the new year bringing us promise, I know i for sure have been focused on my career, which means getting into a powerful frame of mind. And nothing puts me there better than a beautifully tailored suit. So this weeks trend talk focuses on the Tailoring trend, with three ways to wear it. A dressed down, casual outfit, a night out outfit and the a work wear outfit. All links are shop-able.

Casual

Starting off with a really simple and easy one, throw on a blazer over a simple white T and jeans. Just smarten things up a little bit. You can either keep it super off duty by wearing some trend focused trainers (to still look cool) or add in some court shoes to take this to a lunch/ early dinner date kind of outfit. Tie it all off with a bit of red lipstick.

Evening

Go for a statement piece of tailoring, as you can really carry this off in the evening. I love the red trend, so this combines both perfectly. Red also ensures that you stand out. Go for an elegant evening bag and some beautiful footwear to finish off a look like this.

Work

I love throwing on a a tailored coat over a suit. Switch up the shirt with a roll neck, to make it more season appropriate, add wear some edgy footwear, just to keep things interesting and stay away from looking like a corporate robot.

Trend Talk: The Drouser

Trend Talk: The Drouser

Trend Talk: The Drouser

The what!? I hear you say. The Drouser! as the name suggests it is the beautiful merging of the dress and trouser into one stunning and modern outfit perfect for this party season. Especially to keep those legs warm!

As always with our trend talks we are going to be showing you how to style this trend with three easy, foolproof outfits complete with a couple of notes to help you out. First up will be our more casual edit, but as this is a night time look, we will just stick with something simple, followed by a really glitzy sparkly outfit. Then lastly a layering outfit that still in keeps with the trend of the week. So lets get into it.

Simple

Just sticking with black here and monochromatic extras to keep it simple. But what makes this fun is the layering of different textures. From the velvet dress to the leather bag, the different textures and proportions are still brought together to make a super trendy and individual look.

Sparkly

Going for matching pieces here, both really sparkly, but broken up by the simple trousers. I'm talking about the dress and the shoes incase you didn't see those! Pair with a stunning deep, luxurious bag to add back in a touch of elegance.

Super toasty

Staying warm is probably one of the most important things this party season. So opt for this stunning style of sweater, and pair with some simple trousers, but really go for it with the accessories to keep things glam and festive.
