Pynck attended Showcase Ireland 2018, where many beautiful Irish-crafted items were on show - least of which was pottery!

Diem Pottery

Pottery was well represented, and one of our favourices was the Diem Pottery & Design Studio.  Thomas Diem is a second generation designer and potter. Born in NYC but living in Ireland since he was a child, his first taste of pottery came in his own father’s studio.

Find out more at the Diem Pottery official website, or visit Kilkenny Design.

Nicholas Mosse

Nicholas Mosse won in his category, and Pynck were taken aback by the lovely clean and colourful designs. Nicholas Mosse Pottery was established by Nicholas Mosse in 1976 after periods of training in England and Japan. His mission was to produce beautiful, functional pottery in the style of Irish Spongeware. Irish spongeware was the traditional pottery of Ireland used in the 18th Century.

For more information, visit the official Nicholas Mosse website, or Kilkenny Design.

A. Mullane Design - A Designer that Stood Out at Showcase Ireland 2018
Pynck attended Showcase Ireland 2018, and saw many fantastic collections. Some stood out more than others - and A. Mullane Design was certainly one of these. Aoife Mullane is a very talented artist who does bespoke work using her creative energy with the use of copper, quartz, and other minerals in her fabric. Her designs are a mix of traditional screen printing, and other processing to develop fabrics catching inspiration from her surroundings.

She does fabric by the metre, cushions, and bespoke work for furniture which really create a unique style. He work can be found online at her official website, www.aoifemullane.ie. Image slideshow below!
