Trend Talk

Sparkle

What better time to talk about the glitzy trend following firework night!? As if the bright lights and colours of the fireworks aren't enough to get you excited for party season, then this trend 100% will!

In the past couple of seasons fashion has been favouring a minimalistic/ scandi style, but this season it is all about dressing up. so get ready for some knockout party dresses....

We have created three looks below, one a classic LBD, one a dressed down dress up look, and finally an elegant evening look.

LBD

We Love an LBD, but in-keeping with our trend, we have really gone for some glitzy accessories. We love this one shoulder asymmetric dress by Karen Millen, and think the pairing with the embellished bag and shoes is perfect. To add in the luxury, we suggest adding a shearling coat over the top for a warm cover up getting from party to party.

Dressing down

Now we love the vinyl trend, so if you are brave enough go for it. It definitely brings in an added texture and finish to a look. But if not you can just opt for a nice pair of black jeans or trousers. But the trousers here are not meat to be the dazzling piece here. Instead we chose a statement jumper, with embellishment from Karen Millen. This is great for added warmth in the colder months but still looks super sparkly for those nights out. So you don't have to go all out to do this trend, it is actually quite versatile.

Winter White

We love a bit of white in winter. Anyone else dreaming of a white Christmas? Well we are seriously dreaming of this dress. For a very special occasion, maybe your New Years Eve attire, go for this dress from Karen Millen. It is stunning. Just pair back with some simple accessories and let the dress do the talking!

LFW: Burberry AW16

Designer Focus: London Fashion Week – Burberry

Burberry showed their Autumn /Winter collection on Monday, and it undoubtedly steals the show.

As arguably one of the most anticipated shows of London Fashion Week, the show obviously had an A-list studded front row. Stars including Rosie Huntington-Whitley, Naomi Campbell, Suki Waterhouse and Alexa Chung were in attendance, kicking off the show with an entrance alongside other stars on the Burberry red carpet.

Of course the show was held within the grounds of Kensington Gardens, however the runway has begun to veer in a more curved fashion, with models striding around the crowd. A different set up to previous shows at Burberry.

As for this seasons performer, Jake Bugg was nestled amongst the crowd to play accompaniment to the collection, which had a very retro, mod feel to it, therefore Jake Bugg was the perfect choice to play.

Creative director, Christopher Bailey, said that it was “not a themed show, but all the things that I love, It’s a patchwork of different things – from Mitford sisters to military to glam rock.”

Amongst the collection there was a number of military style overcoats with either red or gold piping, sequined dresses with huge flowery prints, lots of khaki parkas and more overcoats, but in large check either a sort of burgundy colour or khaki.

As for the accessories, shoes where either in a shoe/boot style, plat formed, topped off with tassels, of studded biker style boots.  Bags were very statement, as following on from a popular trend seen back at New York Fashion Week, with belt style handles or shoulder straps, that were often matched up with belts worn over the top of trench coats.
