Stockholm Fashion week, what will trend, SS17

With the highly anticipated 2016’s second edition of fashion month approaching us, it is abundantly clear that our summer is coming to an end. However, city’s have already played host to a number of fashion weeks which will showcase fashion’s next instalment of summer trends.

Stockholm fashion week has recently concluded, and was added to the coverage agenda of none other than Vogue.com, who originally only focuses on the main four fashion capitals, New York, London, Milan and Paris. So is Stockholm going to be putting Sweden onto the Fashion map?

There are already a multitude of highly influential Swedish fashion houses, such as Acne, who are not actually on Stockholm’s schedule. Altogether, scandi design is hugely popular with many of the basic/ classic vibes being reflected heavily in today’s street style and from fashion bloggers and influencers. So what was special about this fashion week? Highlights are below.

H&M - Scandi brand in Oslo

A trip to Oslo this week to discover the shopping scene proved hard in outfit planning, as the transition month of spring couldn't promise any sort of weather. Inspired by the very reasonably priced H&M (of Sweden), the following ensemble emerged.

Scandinavian fashion, particularly the way in which the women dress in Norway is very easy and effortless. Women throw on coats and scarfs over leggings and boots / trainers, and they still manage to look put together.

As spring is approaching, I chose this pastel blue coat from H&M and paired it with a big scarf (also H&M) to try and imitate the easy dressing I have so often seen. As the weather was going to be on the chillier side, I mixed a bit of fur in to add an extra layer and dimension to the outfit.

As I was going for blue hues, I added a pair of turquoise mirrored sunglasses (H&M).

Of course I accessorised with my trusty Lily bag (Mulberry), which I found was a safe bet with its neutral colour and travel convenience.

H&M are currently offering a wide variety of these summer coats, in many colours. They are really versatile in that they can be thrown on as a cocktail coat or dressed down. And for the colder days this summer, try layering up like I did.
