New York Fashion week has kicked off Fashion month, and one of the first shows, as always is the highly anticipated Tom Ford show.

The collection showcased the true Tom Ford style, with his famous menswear suits adapted to provide a key womenswear piece to this season's collection, worn over bralettes and deep plunging necklines. We also see many references to 90s glam, with low rise cargo pants, and diamante embellished pieces. Also cropping up were many bright colours, just check out that barbie pink. Will Barbie gone glam be the next big trend in 2018? Another thing to make an appearance is leather textures. If you read our piece last month from Copenhagen Fashion week, we speculated that dark leather for summer might be a thing we will see, and this no doubt confirms is. So make sure you keep a look out this fashion month for 90s inspired pieces, tailoring, Barbie pink and dark leather.

Let’s Talk Tom Ford at MFW 2017

Tom Ford showcased his collection at Milan Fashion Week 2017/18 with the same immaculate raffish-ness he is known for, stunning the onlookers with lavish prints and cuts. Take a look yourself and enjoy the front row experience!



This ensemble by the most famed designer in the menswear industry follows the classic dark and light scheme. The suede trucker jacket is paired with an algae green shirt and a pair of straight tailored pants underneath bringing back the nostalgia of the 80s and 90s romantic heroes.



Tom Ford’s love for slightly psychedelic surfaced with his recent collection. Baring no bounds, Tom Ford went ahead with introducing wide lapelled louche evening party jackets that became aesthetic for the onlookers.



Straight out of the pool side cocktail party. Wide lapelled, crazy pink colored jacket asks for just the right amount of attention from the party. Paired with a subtle white shirt, tailored pants , and classic brown shoes it makes the wearer look like he is just about to unleash his sensual side!

Milano and no animal prints? Can’t happen. This is going to be ‘the look’, perfectly balanced in all aspects: from color scheme to blending prints.

Day One New York Fashion Week: Tom Ford AW17

Tom ford presents collections that are overflowing with class and classic luxury but are still fashion forward. This is what really provides us with the Tom ford signature. 

As with the new approach to his collections at fashion week, he paves the way into the 21st century with in dismissible impact of globalisation and fast fashion with styles immediately in demand. 

The autumn winter 2016 will be shown in contrast to his peers who will show their SS 17 collections. In another step forward, pieces will be readily available to purchase in store and online as of Friday. So the fashion is literally walking straight off of the catwalk into your wardrobe, mimicking the trends we see in fast fashion replicas in high street stores. 

The feel of the show was certainly classy and luxurious. The show was set in a dinning room with guests seated on tables surrounding the square catwalk. The intimate show gave off retro sixties vibes with sequins and fur coats as well as leather details and striking prints.
