Digital Trends reflected in Designers Nest SS17. Copenhagen Fashion Week.

The digital age has really taken over fashion. You no longer need to be present at designers shows to watch their new collections. There are many streams to enable you to watch from the comfort of your own home. 

Designers also have Instagram, Twitter, You Tube and Facebook accounts to keep up with the digital media marketing trends. E-word of mouth has also become an increasingly important aspect for the business side of fashion with an army of Bloggers advocating products and influencing commerce.

But at Copenhagen Fashion week, there was a stand out collection that reflected digital media within their collection. Designers Nest sent out garments and ensembles that very much reflected a number of topics that have been trending within social media. In particular, cinematography, comics and even the new Pokémon Go app.  

There were looks inspired by Star Wars, which has been trending for a number of years with the new films released or set to be released. Also comic book inspired looks, reflecting characters from DC movies, which has also been trending with the recent release of Suicide Squad and news of The Justice League Movie. Do you remember when Angelina Jolie sent the press wild with "the leg" on the red carpet? They even go that into their collection! Also did we see a Pikachu on the runway? Straight out of the Pokémon Go App, straight to the runway.

Copenhagen Fashion Week - Schedule and link to live stream. SS17

Copenhagen Fashion Week began yesterday, with a multitude of events, showrooms and trade fairs including an appearance from Princess Mary who awarded the Designer's Nest award. 

With Scandinavian weather, show goers did not exude the typical summer style, but opted for more weather ready looks. 

There are many interesting designers that showcase in Copenhagen, so we have included the on schedule shows below with links to respective designers. For a live stream link, scroll to the bottom of the post.

Designers that showcased yesterday included Maikel Tawadros, Designers Nest, Nicholas Nybro,  Fonnesbech, Freya Dalsjø, Saks Potts, Won Hundred, Han Kjøbenhavn, Lala Berlin and Henrik Vibskov.

Designers that show today are Mark Kenly Domino Tan, By Malene Birger, Ganni, House of Dagmar, Ellen Pedersen, Baum und Pferdgarten,  Uniforms for the Dedicated, Lovechild 1979,  Barbara I Gongini and Asger Juel Larsen.
