Ralph Lauren AW 17 - New York Fashion Week

Ralph Lauren AW 17 - New York Fashion Week

Ralph Lauren

Autumn Winter 2017-18 - New York Fashion Week

Runway meets racetrack? This is the latest from Ralph Lauren at New York Fashion Week for his FW 17 Collection.

Starting with dogtooth and tweed suiting and fabrics, the collection started with a heritage feel, which very quickly became heritage retro, with the introduction of 60s silhouettes and pops of bright reds and yellows, perfectly complimenting the designers collection of classic cars. The collection also seemed to have taken inspiration from the glamorous and car crazy city of Monte Carlo, with logos across dresses, and also the inclusion of luxe diner jackets alike those you would probably see worn within the Casino Monte Carlo.

Overall the collection is incredibly wearable, something that Ralph Lauren always nails completely. We can see many of these pieces fitting perfectly into your FW wardrobe this year, and we particularly recommend a tweed jacket, to keep you super on trend this season.

Ralph Lauren SS17 - New York Fashion Week

Towards the end of New York Fashion Week, Ralph Lauren showcased his Spring Summer 2017 collection. The collection was available straight off the runway to purchase, and was streamed live on Instagram's new Live Video. The show took place in the Madison Avenue store, which was covered in white orchids and faux butterflies, with guests seated around the runway on white sofas. The collection featured many flowing, loose, billowy shapes which was ultra feminine and care-free. Also featured were light coloured tailoring with leopard print accents on accessories, leather jumpsuits and some more edgy motorcycle jacket styles. Bella Hadid, Taylor Hill and Kendal Jenner were among the big names to walk in the show this season. Images from the Ralph Lauren Spring Summer 17 collection showcased last week are below. Day 8: New York Fashion Week, Michael Kors, Ralph Lauren.

Day 8 at New York Fashion week holds some very big, recognized names indeed with the kings of the New York Fashion houses. Firstly, Michael Kors, who is probably on every Park Avenue Princesses speed dial.

The Michael Kors has been repositioning itself into as luxury proposition with previous struggles with mostly outlet sales so what was the high end collection like this fashion week. The show this year was very much inspired by retro flower power, with many sixties silhouettes and bright colors and flowery prints. It was definitely an attempt to brighten things up with a happy factor after the tough times faced by the fashion house.

Accompanying the show was a live performance by Rufus Wainwright.

The other fashion house to present was none other than New York’s Ralph Lauren. The show was literally a traffic stopper, as the house closed the stretch of Madison Avenue outside the Upper East Side flagship store to use as it’s runway. Another label to go to see-now-buy-now, the AW17 collection was shown. The collection featured many references to western style, but with glitzed up sequined numbers with plenty of embellishment and fringing.
