Tommy Hilfiger Fall 2017

Tommy Hilfiger Fall 2017

Tommy Hilfiger

Fall 2017 Collection - London Fashion Week

The Tommy Girl goes Rock Star in Tommy Hilfiger's latest collection "Rock Circus"

Held in London this year to become part of the London branch of Fashion Month, the latest Tommy Hilfiger x Gigi Hadid show played homage to legendary Rock Stars. Set in the iconic Round house, which has held venue to some of the biggest names in Rock and Roll (Pink Floyd, the Rolling Stones) the collection had a sort of grungy punk feel to it, although other music era influences were evident. Overall, we would say the collection merged famous musical era fashion, into a medley of looks.

Sticking with the big trends of the season, we saw a lot of plaid and vinyl, with a colour palette of mostly red's and blues, staying true to the Tommy Brand. We particularly love Gigi Hadid's opening look.

The Collection is now shop-able, but we recommend acting fast before these stunning pieces sell out as the collection has done in previous years. Our favourites are below:

Weekend of NYFW 16

Friday Saturday and Sunday at New York Fashion Week, here’s a little round up of the best highlights at the weekend.

Firstly, the Tommy Hilfiger show and the revealing of his most recent collaboration with model Gigi Hadid. The show was opened by the model herself and was held at Pier 16, which was turned into a carnival, complete with rides and food stands. Guests in attendance included Olivia Palermo, Taylor Swift and Doutzen Kroes. The collection was very ‘street stlye’ based, in Gigi’s true personal style.

Alexander Wang also presented a collaboration, with Addidas. The interesting thing about the collection that all of it’s 84 pieces, are all unisex.

Other interesting shows included DVF, under new chief creative officer, Jonathan Saunders, and Rebecca Minkoff, who is alos jumping on the see now, buy now bandwagon.

As for the show goers, Ringlets in their hair seem to be trending, while big statement earrings seem to be an accessories trend on the runway for next spring summer.

Balmain Autumn Winter Fall 2016 - star studded show

Does it really matter what Balmain throws down the runway anymore? The label, which is just months removed from an H&M collaboration that incited scenes that wouldn't be out of place in a zombie apocalypse movie, thrives on the power of social media. Today was no different. Kanye West sat front row with his creative director and Off-White designer, Virgil Abloh, and Kris Jenner. Twitter was alight with pictures of Kendall and Gigi, who flipped hair colors, walking in the show. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Karlie Kloss, and Jourdan Dunn also made a trip down the runway. But Balmain designer Olivier Rousteing was just getting started.
Karlie Kloss
A live band (because people who insist they're classy often are) played versions of David Bowie and Queen's "Under Pressure" and Savage Garden's "To the Moon and Back." People have often criticized Rousteing for being excessive to the point of nauseousness and this live orchestra was a step further in his quest to always be doing the most.
Rousteing is a maximalist and he has always willingly added his aesthetics to current trends. Last season, as the '70s swept the fashion industry, the designer played with suede and applied gold hardware and ruffles wherever he could.
This season was off to a more subdued and controlled approach with elegant patterned tops and slim-fitting silhouettes in pastel colors like blush and aqua blue. However, Rousteing's control unraveled as he fell back on old habits. Ruffles and gold began to weigh down the collection and there was a parade of pieces embellished with pearls (similar to the sweatshirt Kanye's sporting in slide 45), glitter, tassels, ruffles, and fur — sometimes all at once.

Chanel Couture 2016

More from Paris with last weeks Chanel Haute Couture SS 2016 show.

Star Wars hair, wood embellishments, 'the' dollhouse of the century... Just a few features of the Chanel 2016 Spring/ Summer Haute Couture show held at the Grand Palais in Paris last week.

With a Frow complete with Cara Delevigne, Anna Wintour, Gweneth Paltrow and many more esteemed ‘Frowers’, Lagerfeld once again lived up to expectations providing another spectacle to wow the couture fashion world.

The show opened with Lagerfeld’s male muse, the only male model in the show, and commenced with models striding down the steps to the doll house to the green lawn as the catwalk. Models among the likes of Kendal Jenner and both the Hadid sisters walked in the show.

Of course the collection featured many typical Chanel tweed skirt suits, however this time with the addition of ballooned sleeves which added a modern twist to the classic style. Take a look below for Lagerfeld’s comment on the show.
