The hits kept coming at Showcase Ireland 2018 with Fisherman out of Ireland. Since 1991, Fisherman Out of Ireland has been producing knitwear blending the ancient techniques and material of Donegal knitting enlivened by modern styling and clever use of color and luxury yarns. Fisherman Out of Ireland uses only natural fibres and much of the yarn is spun by Donegal Yarns, also in Kilcar, alongside internationally obtained cashmere and alpaca blends, pure Merino and lambs wool for luxurious insulation. Next up was Bernie Murphy who is a textile artist/fashion designer based in Buncrana, Co. Donegal. She creates her contemporary fashion designs using Donegal Tweeds. Bernie likes to manipulate fabrics to create interesting compositional arrangements which capture the creative functionality of traditional Irish tweeds within her fashion design.
